Issue:
Hotfix Package 1 for Microsoft Application Virtualization 5.0 Service Pack 3 didn’t fix Adobe Acrobat crashing for one of our customers.
In our case, we where able to isolate to only when .Net Framework 4.5.2 is installed. Even after rolling back to .Net Framework 4.5.1, Acrobat would still crash. It would only work if 4.5.2 was never installed
Resolution:
1. Added the below keys locally. They keys would not work in the package.
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Adobe Acrobat\11.0\FeatureLockDown]
“bupdater”=dword:00000000
“bRegisterProduct”=dword:00000000
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\PDApp.exe]
“DisableExceptionChainValidation”=dword:00000001
2. Removed the MFC7 Dll’s from the package
